If we are using classwork, you can send me an image prior to our scheduled time so I have a chance to structure our session accordingly. I will know what I need and can let you know how to be ready. Otherwise, I will choose materials specific to student needs.
For all online services you need a computer, a scanner/printer or device to send/receive images, an email for corresponding and exchanging student work, and reliable internet access. You will need to download a video conferencing app like Zoom.
For most content area classes, you will need the physical book and work books. Some programs have online books, but most students benefit from something they can hold. Most students will need a white board and markers, paper and pencil.
Some students are able to work independently if they are set up with the appropriate supplies. Other students need a parent to be near by to help with focus and transitions between materials.
Keeping to the schedule, having materials ready, having other needs met, are all crucial to online success. I will have everything possible right at hand to make the best use of our time.
I will often send materials ahead of time to be printed. It will be important to check emails and texts before sessions.
